Born in Malaysia, Yann Yann has been acting in Singapore since
the late 1990s. Graduate of the Theatre Training and Research
Programme, she burst into the scene after snapping up the much
coveted role of Edward in Michael Chiang’s Private Parts.
Her role as Mei in the movie, Singapore Dreaming also garnered
rave reviews from the Press for her performance. Independent
film credits include High Cost of Living and Heave. Yann has
also appeared in a variety of Mandarin television sitcoms and
dramas in Singapore like Buo Yin Ren and Feng Niao. You will
catch her soon in Channel U’s variety programme, Food
Gone Bananas.
Yann Yann won the Best Actress Award in the recent Life! Theatre
Awards 2007 with her unwavering performance in Thunderstorm
by The Theatre Practice. Other credits include Separation Forty,
Boxing Day, A Beautiful Companion, Stranger at Home, musical
The Admiral’s Odyssey and the upcoming performance in
Japan, Tosca.
She was seen in local telemovie, 18 grams of Love and local
Ch 5 series, Stories of Love 2 and most recently completed 2
feature films; 881 by award winning director Royston Tan and
Mualaf, by the renowned Malaysian Yasmin Ahmad.
Yann Yann also guest starred in the theatre production of Chesty
Nutty Bang Bang by Stages.
