About Alaric

Best known to the public for his iconic roles as Andre Chichak and Xin HuaHua on Mediacorp Channel 5’s long-running parody show The Noose (2007–2018), Alaric Tay has earned consecutive Asian Television Awards nominations for Best Comedy Actor, cementing his reputation as one of Singapore’s most versatile performers.

Discovered at seventeen by director Glen Goei, Alaric began his career in the local film Forever Fever and has since taken on diverse roles in dramas such as Ang Tao Mui, Love is Love “Sunset”, Rise, and HBO Asia’s Serangoon Road, as well as regional Mandarin films including 18 Grams of Love and Zombiepura.

Beyond acting, Alaric is also an award-winning filmmaker. He directed and co-produced HBO Asia’s first comedy-drama series Sent (2016), and served as Executive Producer on Zombiepura (2018), Singapore’s first wide-release zombie film, which premiered at the Scream Asia Film Festival and screened in eleven territories across Asia. His short films have also been recognised at international festivals like Comic-Con IFF and ReelHeART IFF.

With a unique blend of comedy, drama, and creative leadership, Alaric brings experience, versatility, and reliability to every project, making him a dynamic and engaging presence on screen and stage.
