Best known for his award-winning theatre work and screen performances across Australia and Singapore, Crispian Chan first gained industry attention with his breakout role in A Man with Five Children, which earned him the West Australian Actor’s Equity Award for Best Newcomer and a nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
Graduating with a BA in Theatre & Film from Curtin University, Crispian began his career in Australia, where he also received a Best Actor nomination for Micky.com, cementing his early rise. In 2005, he moved to Singapore to join LASALLE’s pioneer BA(Hons) Acting cohort and soon made his Singapore television debut in Art Central’s groundbreaking improvised drama 9 Lives, produced by Tan Kheng Hua.
Over the past two decades, Crispian has built a substantial cross-border portfolio. His film work includes Kelvin Tong’s The Offering and Boo Junfeng’s Apprentice, which premiered in Un Certain Regard at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. On television, he has been seen in 80s Rewind, Life Story 2 as well as international titles such as NBC’s The Philanthropist, Netflix’s Marco Polo, and HBO Asia’s SENT. His stage credits span major companies including Wild Rice and Pangdemonium with highlights such as The Importance of Being Earnest and The King Lear Project.
